The Process

 Lay Your Path

First lay the material you want to use for your surface. We recommend gravel, stone, or a combination of the two. Make sure your materials are clean, dry, and leveled out.

 Pour Our Formula

Once the stone is in place, simply pour the correct Klingstone Paths product onto the rocks and let it set. Small projects can use a simple watering can or, for larger projects, use our pump and compressor.

 That's It!

You can now enjoy a beautiful, sturdy surface that looks like rock but feels like concrete. Our product is wheelchair approved, and is uniquely permeable allowing water to wash into the ground.

The Process/How To

The path to your new, durable pathway is simple.

Follow these steps to install your pathway stabilizer:

  1. Read MSDS and Safety Data Sheets before starting a project and make sure you wear protective clothing such as rubber gloves, safety glasses, and rubber shoes.
  2. We suggest you use plastic drop cloths, tarps, and tape to protect adjoining surfaces or while filling your application can. Use cloth rags or paper towels and Xylene to clean spills on surfaces.
  3. Frame the pathway, patio, driveway, or any area with our custom edging material made in the USA from 100-percent post-consumer recycled plastics. This material can be left in place or removed depending on the look you are trying to achieve. This may stick to other edging materials including wood or metal products.
  4. Place clean, dry stone on the pathway at least 1/8” or larger. You can use larger stone as your base and decorative stones as your top layer to reduce project cost and the amount of material required. Ask our pathway solution experts for details.
  5. Once you’ve made sure the stone is dry, compact and smooth out the surface using a roller compactor or a handheld tamper. If you would like a textured surface, use a broom.
  6. After the aggregate is properly prepared, apply the polyurethane sealant with an approved application system: Howell Pathway custom applicator or ordinary watering can. For really large projects, customers can use our recommended pump and compressor system. Total cure time, or drying time, could be as long as 24 hours, depending on the outside temperature.

Klingstone Paths works great for any gravel or stone surface like pathways, driveways, or parking lots. See our Specifications list to learn more.
